Support Coffee Growers in Rwanda With Each Cup at Bourbon Coffee

Macro_Coffee_59_640.jpg

Bourbon Coffee has a unique history: it first opened its doors in 2007 in Kigali, Rwanda. The goal was to share profits with the coffee farmers themselves, through selling quality coffee at fair prices. The concept was a big hit, and Bourbon Coffee quickly spread across the city of Kigali, before opening its first outpost in the United States. Today, you can join the movement and support direct trade coffee farming in Africa, while sipping on a cup of your favorite brew here at home in Foggy Bottom.

When you visit, you'll find that Bourbon Coffee feels just like any other upscale coffee shop: the walls are lined in natural stone, while the furnishings are sleek and modern. The menu features a variety of signature espresso drinks, like the honey-cinnamon latte, vanilla-lavender latte, and rose petal latte. There's also a modest food menu, so you can grab a muffin or croissant on your way to work in the morning, or you can sit down to enjoy an egg and cheese sandwich.
