Summer has definitely arrived, and plenty of DC locals are heading over to Bluejacket to enjoy classic summer meals of burgers, fries, and beer. What's more, Bluejacket doesn't just serve the beer, it's actually brewed on site with special emphasis on using local, seasonal ingredients to create innovative flavor profiles.
Go for a glass of dry-hopped kolsch with peach and mango aromatics, or try one of several farmhous ales, ranging from fruity, to spicy, to earthy, depending on the brewer's preference. The Bluejacket restaurant space itself is also pretty unique, as the brewery is housed inside a historic boilermaker shop that was built as part of the navy yard's manufacturing complex in 1919. That means that you'll enjoy soaring warehouse-style ceilings and huge industrial windows while you sip your beer and eat your burger.
